Ms. Shop-a-lot

*warning, insane ramblings ahead, proceed with caution*

Caught Confessions of a Shopaholic today, and I found myself to be almost exactly in her shoes.

Well it all started when I was hitting puberty when I was in primary 4 – 5. I totally remember the drastic experience that caused me to become more anti-social. A school performance was due to be performed by my class for National day and the group of classmates decided to all get matching outfits. Hence, my first outing to Orchard Road.

Let’s face it, shopping for my size back then was a total nightmare. Every single shop that you went, shorts were too tight to be even buckled or shirts were too small to even go past your neck. I always managed a “what the hell is this elephant doing in the store” look from the sales people. I specifically remember taking the largest sizes into the fitting room only to come out with sad smile that I could not fit into those things.

Through the years, maybe in order to compensate for that horrible feeling, I started my own little shopaholic career when I started to become more aware of how I looked and it was also when I actually started to wear skirts after my poly years.

I’m not as bad as the actress in the movie that is compelled to buy everything in sight but I do sometimes overspend when you get that urge to just buy. It’s like a particular theory that I learnt but I can’t remember the name of it. Where you already spend for example 100 bucks on something and you just feel that whatever subsequent purchases you make are just cheap change in comparison.

Let’s start from the head.

I shop for a lot of hair products because I have diagnosis myself to have very disobedient hair. I tried, wax, conditioner, gel, those holding stuff that looks like foam, etc… I spend a lot and I don’t save when I have my hair done. I like it when my hair actually listens to me. My current expedition to Monsoon ran up a total cost of more than $250 dollars which included straightening of my hair, dying, and treatment. Well the extra bonus was that I got to flirt with the cute hairdresser named “Knight” lol.

Moving on…

I’m not the type of girl that likes to apply make up but ever since our resume writing class of making it a requirement to put on makeup during presentations. I have officially well or rather a rough estimate of clocking up to 300 bucks worth of cosmetics. They are happily sitting in a little baggage that seems to be almost exploding. I have more than 5 mascaras, 4 eye liners, at least 6 different shades of eye shadow and of cos foundations and stuff. I have all this but they just sit there collecting dust because I am just too darn lazy to use them. I don’t mind putting them on, it’s the getting rid of it that irritates the hell out of me. And every time I do put on make up, I have the tingling sensation to grab more make up products to increase my collection, even though I do not use them at all! However, there is one make up product that I do not have, I do not own any lip sticks. I have lip gloss and chap sticks but never lip sticks because I feel that if they are made out of fish scales, then I rather not be kissing a dead fish.

Next …

Clothes, dun get me started. Unfortunately my rainbow of colors only consists of mainly black, black and black on black. On the occasion I have dark blue, royal purple and the recently added grey and green. I do have like 2 pink thingy inside my closet but they are going to be ancient soon and be discovered by archeologists if I don’t wear them soon. I have ever been on a retail therapy that spends close to 300 bucks on clothes in one shopping spree. But, I have a bad habit: I always wear the same thing, and I don’t particularly like to try new things unless it really offsets me well. Goodness knows how many bunches of clothes I have that my mom has bundled them and given to the Salvation Army. Mainly they consist of my clothes from my past horizontally enhanced days and some out of season clothes. Sometimes I really hate it when the fashion changes.

But I do have a fetish for office wear. If I could I would change all my clothes to semi formal or formal. I think it is a look that I carry well and I enjoy wearing those clothes. Makes me feel semi-sexy, yes I am a sex goddess, BOW DOWN TO ME! Lol.

Further down…

Okie, this one I can count with both hands the amount of jeans and jean skirts that I have. I do have a long skirt somewhere but it’s of a lighter color therefore I seldom wear it, in fact I haven’t worn it before. Shit. Lol.

I realize I have some things that I bought but never actually wore them at all. If I even do sell them away, I think I can make a mini fortune to fund my next shopping expedition.

Further south…

I think this comes as not much of a shocker to anyone with the amount of shoes, slippers and boots that I own. I have thrown away so many because of them growing moldy and not fully utilized at all. Okie, since the last shoe count, it was around 22 pairs, and since then, I have added on at least more than 5 pairs. So let’s make it a round number, roughly around 30 pairs of miscellaneous footwear excluding the ones that are long lost behind cobwebs in the shoe closet and those that I threw away or actually really worn out. I love shoes! I can never have enough of them. It’s the type of feeling when you see a cute guy pass you on the streets but with shoes they are just displayed there and I swear those that are really gorgeous and comfortable actually winks and calls your name to them! And yes, I did spend on another pair of heels just today~ Guilty as charged.

Now onwards to additional items:

Books:
I have loads of books, books is my one fatal flaw. Ask YH, I can enter a book store and exit with 5 books and left with no money in my wallet at all. I cannot resist books. They open up my imagination and I devour all the books within days. I need more books to read.

Accessories:
Remember the fad where every one wears those chains around their neck, I got so caught up once and spend 90 dollars in a single receipt to buy chains, bangles and what nots. However, I don’t wear them. Lol.

Hand phones: I like being kept in the current loop of technology. I have tried iPhones, Samsung, Sony E, Nokia, LG etc. Currently have my eye on a Japanese hp but also digging out information on a new Samsung phone.

Bags:
Okie, if you ever do open my closet, you would see like probably only two bags. Don’t let it deceive you. I have managed to stuff probably about 6 or 7 more bags into any one of those two bags. Yes, I know I would probably need at least a millipede amount of arms to actually carry all those bags. I would say this is only a level 2 fetish for bags, not as bad as shoes.

Undergarment:
My motto: “Spare nothing on inner beauty, it’s what makes you feel sexy and confident”. Enuff said.

Stockings and socks:
Only one pair of legs, but more than 3 dozen pairs of misc. stockings and a drawer full of socks.

Knick Knacks:
Being in love with Japanese stuff and anime stuff, yes I have an assortment of things related to them as well. Current wish list being my anime costume.

.
.
.

So in conclusion, yes you can highly imagine almost all the cupboards are packed full of thingies. So would I consider myself a shopaholic. Definitely on certain occasions. What made me in the right mind type so long for an entry, I was bored and well I enjoyed the movie. So if I had managed to save or sell all my items, I think maybe I would have enough money to buy an affordable car or something. Okie, I exaggerated but that is a lot of money spent. Am I going to change my ways? I’ll consider. For now, just let me enjoy my new pair of heels!

Tata!

.,.insomnia.,.

Well, had insomnia last night again with a song stuck in my head! Shit. Didn’t fall asleep till around 6 in the morning and then when I finally did, I had terrible nightmares.

I dreamt of driving around and reaching this house and some people told me to go in and save a patient with her face totally covered in bandages. I went in and this crazy woman suddenly came out with a pair of really sharp scissors. I grabbed one of those bandage cutting scissors, those with the curved and sharp edges on the sides and tried to defend myself while she started snapping her scissors near my face. I grabbed hold of her scissors and I felt her scissors cutting through my hand and tearing at my flesh, but somehow I managed to use my scissors and snipped her nostrils and cutting them open and I didn’t recall seeing any blood. Then we battled till we were outside of the house and then it dawned on me that I should use the scissors to poke her eyes, so I frantically poked her eyes and her eyes exploded with greenish yellowish goop and it poured down her face.

She was blinded but she still kept on coming and attacking me. I took the opportunity that she was blind and I pushed her onto the nearby traffic and she died. I do not know who the woman was. Then if you guys remember those horror scenes where like “ghosts” stand hear the door and wave you to get back into the house type of scenario. Well the people that wanted me to save the patient waved me back to the house, I have no idea why but I became paranoid and on my injured hand was still the mad woman’s scissors so I took up both scissors and I ran into the house killing the people and even the patient before bandaging up my hand and driving off.

What an excellent dream. Lol.
